Round and round the beaters go. (roll hands)
Add some flour from a cup. (shake a pretend cup)
Stir and stir the batter up. (stirring motion)
Roll them, cut them nice and neat. (rolling pin motion)
Put them on a cookie sheet. (place pretend cookies)
Bake them, count them 1-2-3. (counting motion)
Serve them to my friends for tea. (take a bite!)

Great Big Cookie
I am a great big cookie, (circle hands over head)
Chocolately and round, (extend hands out to sides)
Filled with lots of chocolate chips, (point to chips)
The best that can be found. (rub tummy)I am a great big cookie, (circle hands over head)
Take a bite of me. (make chewing motions)
Tasty, sweet, delicious, (extend hands out to sides)
I’m oh-so-yummy! (rub tummy)I WAS a great big cookie, (circle hands over head)
The very best around. (extend hands out to sides)
Now there’s nothing left of me, (shake head)
Just crumbs upon the ground. (sit down)

To make Cookie Monster I just used an old baby wipes container and taped a laminated cut out of his face to the front. The kids had SO much fun feeding him 🙂 For instructions to make the cookies and templates visit Leah’s post- Baking Storytime.

Smart Cookie Activity
I found this awesome activity from The Outlaw Mom. Her blog has great ideas and free printables! This is a great activity because there was no prep or cutting 🙂 I set out colored pom-poms and crayons and let the kids go to work- great practice with matching colors!
Love the ideas! I am having a cookie themed storytime this December, and you have provided such wonderful new ideas. I also thought about baking and bringing in some cookies, too.

I came upon your website while looking for ideas for my preschool speech therapy lessons. I have Duckling Gets a Cookie and The Cow Loves Cookies, and I love your ideas. Wow! I was planning on doing some similar ideas and you helped lay it all out. Thank you!
