It was a rainy morning – the perfect weather to curl up with a good book and a furry friend at storytime. This morning’s storytime was all about teddy bears.
OPENING SONG: The More We Get Together
OPENING RHYMES:
BOOK 1: Old Bear by Kevin Henkes
A book with enchanting pictures. Children will love to find bear taking a nap, curled up in a tulip; or watching as it rains blueberries.
ACTION RHYME: Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear
Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around.
Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the ground.
Teddy bear, teddy bear, show your shoe.
Teddy bear, teddy bear, that will do.
SONG: Teddy Bear Playtime from Hap Palmer’s CD So Big
Everyone danced with their teddy bears (or other favorite stuffed animal friend).
BOOK 2: Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? by Bill Martin
A classic favorite. Instead of reading the book, I used a flannel board.
Pieces for flannel can be found on DLTK’s website .
